easily load a single image to start testing.

Import options appear to be all about handling folders and images according to PhotoDirector's paradigms. The left sidebar so-called initial "Smart Collection" purportedly contains 13 photos, but will not enumerate.. not so smart. "Folders"...

To be able to install Photo Director 6 in Windows 10

The program installer asks for Visual C++2010. Does not accept the (later) version of Visual C++ in Windows 10 it seems.

Add mouse functionality, use normal windows events

First, thank you for this GAOTD! I'm new to this, so some of what I suggest may exist, or not make sense in your realm :) Allow image browsing via mouse wheel, effect controlling, whenever applicable. your menues go against all that I'm used...

On the download you should eliminate all the black

Black backgrounds with dark red or blue writing is very hard to read. On download and install there is no need for this, just make it White with large font black letters.

to use Control or Shift when selecting to import

Allow use of Ctrl or Shift when making selections from a folder to import. This would greatly speed up the selection process
